what.i.loved.this.month – December

Posted by
Monthly musings, health and wellbeing inspirations and other random happenings in my quest for a happy life, a healthy relationship with food and totally in tune with a busy lifestyle.

Recipe: Raw cashew hot chocolate by Green Kitchen Stories. Pure indulgence! Essential oil diffuser blend: doTERRA’s holiday blend ‘Holiday Joy’. Christmas was definitely in the air! Self-care: total internet and phone disconnect over Chrismas. Heavenly! Random inspiration: Insight Timer. Amazing meditation aid! Feel good moment in December: breathing the cold, crisp winter air during a frosty morning walk back home in Germany over the Christmas break. Recently discovered foodie product: Kurkuma Latte by Sonnentor when you just do not have the time to make your turmeric latte from scratch. Super yummy alternative for the real thing. Read of the month: Paolo Cuelho’s ‘Manuscript found in Accra’. Loved it! Smart treat*: Ferrero Rocher. Nuts and chocolate… does it get any better?! Movement routine of the month: walks in nature and weekly Ashtanga classes. With the busyness of December this was most appopriate for my energy levels. Yoga inspiration: Yoga is not about touching your toes, it is what you learn on the way down. – Jigar Gor.

* Smart treats: something that is generally considered ‘unhealthy’, but you really like. These treats may be high in refinded sugars, unhealthy fats or really calorific, yet we give ourselves permission to have them as part of a balanced diet instead of completely depriving ourselves. Developed by the amazing Laura at Wholeheartedly Healthy, you can read more about it here.
